Communications - handling post, phone calls and emails in the booking office
article by: Garry Owen
We have a team of volunteers who just love to sit in our office
at Toddington and carry out the many administration jobs that need
to be done when the railway is not operating. But, with the railway
becoming busier, there is also an opportunity to work with the
Stationmaster on days when the trains are running and the 'phone
still needs to be answered. The work includes most general office
duties, is an invaluable part of customer satisfaction and will
offer a chance to promote and publicise the railway. You will need
to be well-organised and content to work on your own at times. A
very quick way to learn all there is to know about the railway.
Suits people of all ages and physical abilities. This is also a
rostered position where you will be expected to keep to your
promise of working on those days when you say you will.
