All vehicles are sold as seen with no warranties given.
Prospective purchasers are advised to undertake inspections to
their satisfaction at the time of viewing.
All sales will be subject to the condition that the vehicle is
removed from the company's premises, promptly, following the
completion of the purchase (or at a later time as agreed due
to shunting requirements). The vehicles will be moved to the
rail/road loading area at Toddington as required to facilitate
their departure. All sales will be subject to the addition
of V.A.T.
Sensible offers are
invited for each of the vehicles. Undisclosed reserve prices will
apply. Vehicles will be sold on a first come, first served
basis. Some of the vehicles will be stripped and scrapped if
they do not sell in a reasonable time.

either with the unit or as a separate sale. The preference for the
sale of the spares is to sell with the unit. The unit is privately

5500 & 5539
|
| 5500 and 5539 are Great Western
'B' Coaches. 5500 was built in 1934 and is a Brake Third (BT). 5539
was built in 1928 and is a Collett Brake Third (BT). They are
unique vehicles in that no others of their type have survived into
preservation. Their current condition is very poor and they are
structurally unsafe with the roofs and sides propped with timber to
allow their movement without collapse. Many of the original
fixtures and fittings survive and are in separate secure storage.
These vehicles are currently stored on isolated tracks so their
removal will need to be planned with good notice. These vehicles
are privately owned. They are offered free to a
good home where the future of both vehicles would be
assured. The photographs show each side of each
vehicle |
