The Cotswold Festival of Steam is over and tired but happy
volunteer staff have been reflecting on a really successful
weekend:
- the weather was dry throughout
- the car parks were full
- everyone seemed to enjoy the weekend's variety
- the ticket count is over, and we can confirm that over 4,700
were sold - a big improvement on last year and an average of over
1,100 for each of the four days. That's despite a lot of
competing attractions - in the railway world, the Eastleigh Open
Day and locally the Cheese Rolling at Coopers Hill, to name but
two.
- star of the show for family visitors was definitely 5972 in its
better-klnow guise as Hogwarts Castle…but
- for sheer charm it's hard to beat the little 134-year-old
'Terrier' no. 662 with its 'Queen Mary' brake van
