Big weekend: Saturday and Sunday

Over the Bank Holiday weekend, the 'Big Weekend' is taking place at Cheltenham Racecourse and the highlight is a giant funfair, offering traditional family faviourites as well as white-knuckle rides.  The fair is only 150 yards from the GWR's Racecourse station!

Go by bus!  Sunday

At the site of the old 'Black & White' coach station in Cheltenham (close to the new Brewery shopping and entertainment centre) there will be coaches galore, capturing the great days of coach travel.  The occasion is 'Associated Motorways 75' marking the 75th anniversary of Associated Motorways, which used Cheltenham as a hub for regular long-distance coach travel throughout the UK.  You can read full details here of this rather special occasion.  As part of the celebration, there will be a frequent classic bus service provided by Stagecoach West from the former coach station, to the GWR's Cheltenham Racecourse station.  The service is free but a donation will be asked for!    Those travelling to the GWR by public transport will be able to catch a 'D' bus service from Cheltenham Spa (network Rail) station, which passes the coach rally at the old coach station site.  You can travel in classic style to catch your train at Cheltenham Racecourse!
