The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, in conjunction with
the North Cotswold Branch of CAMRA, are holding their first Ale and
Steam weekend on the 6th and 7th June at Winchcombe Station.
So why not enjoy a pint or two in the beautiful surrounds of
Winchcombe Station in addition to enjoying the action on the rails
- especially as your train ticket gives you free entry to the
festival!
The waiting room will be transformed into a bar serving up to 14
beers and local ciders. Many of these are local to Gloucestershire
and / or have a railway theme! Hot and cold food, tea / coffee and
soft drinks will also be available courtesy of the GWR's On-Train
Catering department. The bar will open from 1130 until 1730, and
prices will be just £1.30 for a half pint, £2.50 for a pint or
£3.00 for a pint of cider.
On the steam side a normal red timetable, with two engines in
steam, will be operating. The first train from Toddington departs
at 1030, and from Cheltenham Racecourse at 1115 - in time for the
opening of the festival at 1130. The last departures are 1645 to
Cheltenham Racecourse and 1742 to Toddington.
Please note there will be very limited parking at Winchcombe and
a train ticket or platform ticket for Winchcombe Station will be
required to gain entry to the festival.
