The railway media continues to give the GWR great coverage and
the arrival for the 25th Anniversary Cotswold Festival
of Steam, of Hall class 4-6-0 no. 5972 Olton Hall appearing as it
Harry Potter film star Hogwarts Castle, was no exception.
Both Heritage Railway and Steam Railway magazines provided good
spreads with a range of pictures taken during the Cotswold Festival
of Steam. Elsewhere in Steam Railway there are reports on
ex-Turkish State Railway 8F no. 8274 which is nearing completion at
Toddington and a very nice picture of WPR no. 15 Earl David. The
presence of the bright red Hall attracted nearly 7,000 fare-paying
passengers during its two-week tenure.
You can buy copies of both Heritage Railway and Steam Railway in
the station shop at Toddington.
But here is a selection of images from the Cotswold Festival of
Steam, and a rather splendid movie. Did you take
pictures? Then please submit them to our galleries.
We are also endebted to Philip Croutear for this fantastic
video if Olton Hall and City of Truro making a very spirited
departure from Winchcombe.
