Thursday 31st December and Friday 1st January 2010 are the last
two operating days of the Honeybourne Line's 2009 season. The
railway is operating its Blue timetable service and the steam
locomotive is the magnificent 9F class 2-10-0 owned by artist and
wildlife conservationist, David Shepherd: no. 92203 Black
Prince. The last return train of both days will be class 47
diesel no. 47105.
Friday also sees the New Year meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse
so here's a brilliant opportunity to 'go by rail to the races' from
Toddington to Cheltenham Racecourse station. The racecourse
entrance is less than five minutes' walk from the station.
From 2nd January the railway is closed until March when our
exciting new season starts. During 2010 you can look forward
to a big celebration of the 175th Anniversary of the Great Western
Railway; a welcome return for that cheeky blue engine, Thomas
the Tank Engine and back by popular demand, locomotive Olton Hall
which stars as Hogwarts Castle in the Harry Potter films.
