Mags feature the Honeybourne Line

The Christmas editions of magazines Heritage Railway and Steam
Railway (both available from the Toddington station shop) feature
the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Heritage Railway features
the recent press launch of the Bachmann model of 'City of Truro'
and a news item about the new bridge at Laverton. There's also a
fine picture of 9F 2-10-0 near Winchcombe with a Christmas 'Elegant
Excursions' dining train.
Steam Railway magazine covered progress of GWR 2-8-0 no. 2807
which should be running in time for the railway's GWR175
celebration in 2010, as well as a double-page feature on the
railway's plans to extend north to Broadway - and, perhaps -
Honeybourne.
The feature, written by Ian Crowder, was originally written as
if on a journey on the footplate of Foremarke Hall to Honeybourne
Junction, where the train connects with an FGW service to
Paddington. But much of this was lost in the editing, so we have
reproduced the full article here.
The story outlines the costs facing the railway as it forges
northwards - and explains how you can help. One really good way to
contribute to the growth of your favourite railway is to buy shares
- and there is a fantastic return as just 100 will see your
investment repaid in terms of travel concessions on the Honeybourne
Line. Better than almost any investment opportunity on the FTSE 100
- and at least it's guaranteed! Click on the link below for
