Saturday and Sunday, 25th and 26th
April, and not just 'early in the morning', Postman Pat® and Jess
the Cat are on a special delivery service to the award-winning
Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway.
Postman Pat is a hit with youngsters
and the young at heart and this is a rare chance to meet Pat and
Jess, all the way from Greendale!
Says Malcolm Temple, volunteer
commercial director at the GWR: "There will be lots of chances to
have your picture taken with Postman Pat® and Jess the Cat while
the GWR has also laid on Punch and Judy and children's
entertainment on both days.
"It's going to be a real fun day for
everyone!"
Frequent steam trains run from 10.30am
at Toddington and from 10.15am at Cheltenham Racecourse stations to
meet Postman Pat at Winchcombe station. There's plenty of
free car parking at both Toddington and Cheltenham Racecourse, but
no parking or admission at Winchcombe station. You can
download the timetable here.
Normal train fares apply - £11 for
adults, children 3-15 £6.50 and senior citizens £9.50. A
family ticket, for up to two adults and three children, costs just
£30 and tickets are valid for as many train rides as you like on
the day of issue.
The award-winning GWR, which recently
carried its one-millionth passenger, is entirely run by
volunteers.
